Stryker Hip Implants Problems Reported in 2005

Problems with Stryker products came up in January 2005 after some users reported a squeaking or popping sound after receiving the implant. Side effects include bone fractures, pain and discomfort. Another potential side effect included the potential for the implants to shatter, which would require additional replacement surgery.

Hip replacement is typically performed on patients who suffer from arthritis or extensive fractures.
